125 Youth to be trained in Electricals

All thanks to NABARD, Ambuja Foundation has received a sanction to train 125 youth in Assistant Electrician course in 5 batches at SEDI Bathinda. This sanction is part of NABARD’s ongoing efforts in fostering Skill Development and Rural Entrepreneurship Development initiatives in rural areas.


Ambuja Foundation will identify trainees from the rural, semi-urban and border districts of Bathinda for the course, and will conduct mobilization activities accordingly to reach the given target. The course will be National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) compliant and will include soft skills development so that students are confident during placement meets and at workplace.


The Electrical course covers areas of theory and practical training, safety guidelines, technical training and the pedagogy besides theory and practical’s at the centre, includes on-the-job training in actual workplaces.


Apart from the Assistant Electrical course, SEDI Bathinda offers training in Field Technician – Home Appliances which is supported under the PMKY 2.0, Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) with many trainees securing jobs in local and multi-national companies post completion.


Ambuja Foundation provides mentoring and post-training follow-up support for at least 24 months and ensures that all trainees receive placement support.


SEDI Bathinda has been instrumental in providing skills and employment to youth of rural villages of Jaisingh Wala and with this new partnership, is hoping to reach many more youth of the district. Till date, the centre has trained 239 trainees with a high-placement rate.
