Ambuja Foundation @ Global Economic Summit - Mumbai

Ambuja Foundations efforts in strengthening the value chain for cotton farmers was showcased at the recent Global Economic Summit, held in February in Mumbai.
The focus of the summit was 'Global Value Chain - accelerating MSME growth, development and sustainability' and Ms Anagha Mahajani (GM, Research & Monitoring) made a detailed presentation in a session 'Leveraging the Power of Global Value Chains'
Working in partnership with Better Cotton Initiative, Ambuja Foundation has been supporting cotton farmers to promote sustainable cotton production by reducing environmental adversities and enriching the value chain.
Expanding from 2500 farmers to 81380 farmers and an area coverage from 2900 hectare to 1.28 lakh hectare in a short span of 7 years, Ambuja Foundation has come a long way through BCI. Last year itself, Ambuja Foundation has expanded its outreach from 44,000 to 81,380; a whopping 85% growth!
BCI farmers are not only earning better profits, but are also technically sound. They are confidently progressing with peer-learning approach and have developed a better capacity for quality production and fetching better prices in the market. While farmers are content and their families doing better, the initiative has also earned Ambuja Foundation the membership in BCI Global Council.
Under the project, Ambuja Foundation has worked on the holistic development of farmers - right from building knowledge, unleashing their collective power and developing the market linakges.
