National Water Award for Water Conservation Efforts

Demonstrating unwavering excellence in sustainable water management, Ambuja Foundation has been honoured with the National Water Award 2024 in the best civil society category. The award citation was presented by the Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resource, RD & GR, Government of India, in the distinguished presence of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The prestigious national recognition is a brilliant example of the foundation’s excellent work in the field of sustainable water management.


This honour underscores Ambuja Foundation’s unwavering dedication to promoting sustainable water management, strengthening community-led initiatives, and fostering long-term resilience across the region. The award is a reflection of the tireless efforts of the team, the trust and collaboration of the partners, and the steadfast commitment of the communities served by the foundation.


Commenting on the achievement, Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation said, “It is truly a great honour to have our efforts acknowledged by the Government. This recognition belongs to our project partners and our dedicated teams in Rajasthan, whose relentless commitment continues to drive meaningful progress in the region. This reward will keep on inspiring us to build innovative and impactful solutions along with support of the partners that ensure water security for current and future generations.”



The foundation has being implementing sustainable and scalable solutions for efficient water management and conservation for the past several years while ensuring community participation in various activities such as restoration of local water bodies, promoting safe drinking water and adoption of micro irrigation techniques in farming. Under the various projects, village ponds were revived through restructuring the catchment area, cleaning the water and managing efficient use of water for various activities. Restoration of traditional water bodies was also increased the availability of surface water for drinking and daily purposes while enhancing groundwater recharge. To ensure the participation of local communities in the revival of wells, ponds, and lakes, Ambuja Foundation collaborated with gram panchayats. This collaboration motivated panchayat members to actively visit project sites and contribute their knowledge and expertise to the reconstruction efforts.
