Ambuja Foundation partners with CSR to empower rural India

Great things happen when purpose meets partnership. Ambuja Foundation believes in working hand in hand with like-minded organizations to empower rural India. Along with varied partners, Ambuja Foundation has seen communities rise, proving that collective action creates lasting impact be it in education, health, water, or livelihoods.

Recently, Ambuja Foundation welcomed senior officials and delegates from various partners to showcase our work, impacts on the ground and transformation in the communities. Some of these visits are featured as below.

1) Ambuja Foundation and Better Cotton

Ambuja Foundation recently welcomed Better Cotton’s global leadership, including CEO Nick Weatherill and COO Lena Staafgard, to our Nagpur project site in Maharashtra, where they appreciated innovative interventions like Trichocard Units, Sticky Traps, and regenerative farming practices. Today, Ambuja Foundation facilitates 2.1 lakh farmers in adopting Better Cotton principles, promoting water efficiency, soil health, reduced pesticide use, decent working conditions and building resilience against Climate change.

2) Ambuja Foundation and YES Bank

With Yes Bank as one of our newest partners, we’ve seen skills turn into careers for rural youth. A recent visit of Ms. Subhasree Sarkar, Sr. Vice President and CSR Lead at Yes Bank, to our SEDI Nagpur and SEDI Chandrapur was filled with hope, reminding trainees that success comes with focus and effort. This partnership has already helped many and continues to open doors for rural youth.

3) Ambuja Foundation and APM Terminals

Ambuja Foundation’s partnership with APM Terminals has brought a wonderful increase in women’s participation at SEDI Rajula. With 0% participation in 2016 – 17 to nearly 50% today, this partnership has helped empower rural women. A recent visit of APM Terminal’s Board of Directors, Top Management, and CSR Team led to inaugurating a new GDA lab-cum-Training room at SEDI Rajula. They interacted with the trainees, alumni and parents and appreciate the impactful work being done in GDA, CNC and Tally apart from other courses currently running at the skill training centre.

4) Ambuja Foundation and Marico Limited

Ambuja Foundation’s partnership with Marico Limited is about creating lasting change through water security. Mrs. Satya and Mrs. Madhubala, from Marico Limited, had an impactful visit to Asalgam and Shahpur villages, Gujarat. They appreciated the revived water bodies, listened to farmers, and planned strategy for the next three years. This partnership is turning water challenges into opportunities for growth and better livelihoods.

5) Ambuja Foundation and HDFC Bank

One of Ambuja Foundation’s major partners is HDFC Bank Parivartan. We were honoured to have the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, inaugurate a Smart Class at Amiruddaula Islamia Inter College, Lucknow under the Short-Term Project. As part of this initiative, four additional Smart Classes will be set up across schools, and an Astronaut Lab is being planned at Raj Bhavan, Lucknow to further promote experiential learning. The recent launch of the Solid Waste Management unit at Jandwala Kharta, Firozpur, Punjab brought together community leaders and partners to celebrate a step toward environmental sustainability. Mr. Vinod Kumar and Mr. Paras Kumar, Relationship Managers, HDFC Bank were present for this launch. Also, recently the visit of Ms. Manisha Gawade Regional Head – CSR, HDFC Bank and Mr. Pawan Dongre Project Manager – CSR, HDFC Bank was successfully conducted for the Sustainable Agri-Water Initiative Project in Chandrapur. With HDFC Bank by our side, one of our primary objective is to create greener villages in Rural India.

Why are partnerships so important? Because we can all pool resources, knowledge and experiences collaborate and work together to make a BIGGER difference. Doesn’t it make more sense to take a proven model and scale it and improve it via partnerships than everyone trying to figure solutions out on their own in isolation? Through such partnerships, Ambuja Foundation looks forward to growing with our partners and helping the rural communities in all aspects of their lives.
