Ambuja Foundation's SEDI launched Data Science course

Expanding its curriculum of future skills, Ambuja Foundation launched a new AI-Data Science course as part of the Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Program at its skill training center SEDI in Darlaghat and Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. The new course is designed to prepare individuals for in-demand careers in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. On the other hand it also provides an opportunity for graduates in the region who are unable to secure jobs due to the challenging terrain. Graduates in Science, IT, Commerce or Arts (With Mathematics and basic IT knowledge) can enroll for this six-month training program.

The Information Technology (IT) sector in India has witnessed remarkable growth over the years, creating huge employment opportunities. In response, following market research and a comprehensive needs assessment, Ambuja Foundation has launched a series of 'Future IT Skills', a cutting-edge IT curriculum aimed at bridging the gap between industry demands and the available talent pool, especially from the marginalized social groups. This initiative focuses on equipping the youth with in-demand skills in data science, full-stack development, and Salesforce development—courses that are currently at the forefront of industry requirements and can offer jobs as Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Python Developers.

Last year Ambuja Foundation introduced Future IT Skills in one centre in partnership with AU Small Finance Bank with an aim to train about 5500 rural youth. With the success of that program, has this course been introduced at SEDI Darlaghat and Nalagarh as well.

Talking about the new course, Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation said, “We are developing innovative, future-focused courses aimed at bridging the existing skill gap and preparing the youth to seize the abundant employment opportunities within the IT sector. Skill development plays a pivotal role in Ambuja Foundation's comprehensive development program, as we firmly believe that equipping individuals with the right skills is the key solution to addressing the unemployment challenge in the country. With this new course, we aim to train, mentor, and guide young people, ensuring they are fully prepared for the opportunity that lies in the AI-Data science sector. Through these Future Skills courses, we are committed to empowering the underserved youth with the essential skills needed to become both employable and industry-ready."

As part of their Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDI), Ambuja Foundation trains young individuals across rural India enabling them to secure well-paid jobs in various industries. Till date, SEDI has trained over 1 Lakh rural youth across its 42 centres with a placement rate of 75%. The program offers training in various trades from 49 different organized sectors. Basic computer skills, knowledge of functional English and soft skills are compulsory components of all training programs conducted at SEDI centers.
