An Influx of Dignitary Visits at SEDI

Ambuja Foundation’s Skilling Centres (SEDI) across India, have welcomed various high-level dignitaries and guests over the last month. Whilst guests appreciated Ambuja Foundation’s skill training models, the visits created an opportunity for trainees to interact with, and grasp insights, from such eminent individuals.


  • The Director of Skill Development of Gujarat visited SEDI Jaitaran and Ambuja Foundation’s SARAL Project, lauding the work being done to train rural youth. Hailing from the block of Jaitaran, he was proud of the centre and its 80% placement rate and the 70% retention rate.

  • SEDI Chhindwara was shortlisted for a visit by the Skill Development Officers of the Government of Maharashtra. As per the plan of the State Government, officers were assigned to visit skill development centres to better understand the skilling models, training and operations of the centres. Impressed with Ambuja Foundation’s Skill Training Model and the opportunities it has created for rural youth, the SEDI model will be put forward as a ‘Best Practice Case Study’ to the Government of Maharashtra.

  • SEDI Una, Darlaghat was delighted to welcome the District Development Manager of NABARD to the centre. After touring the SEDI and interacting with all ongoing trainers, he was extremely delighted - expressing interest in collaboration with Ambuja Foundation on other projects too. The District Skill Committee also visited SEDI Una to explore the possibility of partnership and collaboration in skill training.

  • The District Collector of Kayad visited Ambuja Foundation’s ‘Hindustan Zinc – SEDI’ accompanied by personnel from the Hindustan Zinc team. While he interacted with the trainees and spoke to placed trainees, he was amazed to hear the story of one of the placed trainees who is now financially independent and able to support her children’s education. He was proud of the platform that Hindustan Zinc and Ambuja Foundation have created for rural youth and expressed his appreciation.

  • The Area General Manager of NABARD, Punjab also visited SEDI Bathinda and interacted with the students and benefits of being a skilled worker

    Ambuja Foundation recently launched three new skill training centres in Gujarat and Uttarakhand - taking the total number of SEDI to 27. The newly launched centres are in Rajula (Gujarat), Roorkee (Uttarakhand) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand).
