Livelihood Fund

Ranjana is the President of Kumkum Self Help Group, has two children, and her husband used to work as a laborer under a contractor. However, during the Covid-19 crisis, her husband lost his job, due to which the income of her family stopped – making it difficult to run the household and cover expenses.

Ranjana herself wanted to do some work but due to the lockdown, all the work was stopped. She wanted to do some small work by taking a loan from somewhere, but on taking the loan, interest would have to be paid. And if there was no income in the business then it would be very difficult to repay the loan.

Ranjana Verma proposed to the Federation to open a small grocery shop and fancy store from her home. Seeing Ranjana's financial condition, the federation accepted Ranjana's proposal and gave her an interest-free loan of Rs 10,000. With this Ranjana opened a shop at her house.

In the initial days, she used to earn about 100 per day from this shop, which covered her daily household expenses, and slowly she began to repay the loan from the federation. She also increased the materials at the shop, from which she now earns 150 to 200 per day. She says that the Livelihood Fund without interest helped her a lot so that she could come out of the difficult phase of the family.
