'BEST' Farmer Producer Company in Ropar!

Farmers at the Rupnagar Farmer Producer Company in Ropar, Punjab are jumping for joy! They've bagged 'the best FPO in the state' Award - a much lauded award by NABARD.

And why? Because since its inception in 2013, it has grown from just 10 shareholders, to 253 shareholders today - and are expecting to expand to 500 shareholders in the near future.

Additionally, RFPCL has scaled its biomass supply in a big way - from just 450 MT to 8831 MT, earning a profit of 7.65 lakh.

In an event held in January 2018, the award was presented by Shri Rajendra Singh Bajwa (Minister, Rural Development & Panchayat, GoP) in the presence of other dignitaries including Mr. Nirmal Chand (Regional Director, RBI), Mr. Sanjay Kumar (GM, SBI), Mr. Viswajeet Khanna (Additional Secretary - Rural Development) and Mr. Deepak Kumar (CGM, NABARD).

Established in 2013 by Ambuja Foundation, the FPC has regular trainings and exposure visits - enabling shareholders of the company to expand their businesses manifold, through activities such as biomass supply, agriculture input trading and farm machinery bank.

This has set a huge benchmark for the other FPCs initiated with help from Ambuja Foundation, to follow suit and be recognised for their efforts.
