STEM Lab Inaugurated in Upparwahi, Maharashtra
A new STEM Lab was recently inaugurated at a Zilla Parishad School in Upparwahi, Maharashtra, creating opportunities for rural students to explore innovative learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Supported by Ambuja Cements Limited (Adani Cements), the lab was inaugurated by Mr. Mahender Singh Rathore, Unit Head, Ambuja Cements, Upparwahi, in the presence of Block Education Officer Mr. Kalyan Jogdan, local leadership, and the Ambuja Foundation team under the guidance of the Zonal Head.
The occasion also celebrated the school’s first-place achievement in the Mazi Shala drive, winning ₹11 lakh — highlighting ongoing support for school development. Additionally, a Cement Concrete Road was inaugurated to improve community access.
With this addition, 22 STEM labs are now operational across locations, helping spark curiosity and foundational interest in STEM subjects.
Smart Classrooms in Roorkee
In Jhabrer, Roorkee, Smart Classes were inaugurated by the Nagar Panchayat Chairperson, equipping three schools with interactive panels, BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) paintings, power backup facilities, and improved classroom infrastructure.
A computer lab was also established in an Army Public School in Varansi equipped with a complete set of 40 desktops and supporting infrastructs and an Astronomy Lab was setup at Army Public School in Lucknow with models developed by ISRO and technical support helping promte space science education.
The initiative, supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan in partnership with Ambuja Foundation, aims to make classroom learning more engaging and interactive and having trained teachers with knowledge and skills to effectively operate smart classrooms. School principals expressed gratitude and assured that the smart classrooms would be fully utilized to enhance student learning.
New SEDI Centre Opens in Sohna
A new Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) centre supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan was inaugurated in Sohna in the presence of Col. Gunjan Chowdhary, HDFC representatives, local stakeholders, training staff, and beneficiaries.
The ceremony included a walkthrough of the training facilities, interaction with trainees, and an overview of the courses and placement support mechanisms. SEDI Sohna aims to equip youth with industry-relevant skills and connect them to employment opportunities, strengthening local livelihoods.
Industry-Linked Skill Lab at SEDI Surat
In collaboration with IFB Industries, a new skill lab was inaugurated at SEDI Surat. IFB has provided a full range of appliances for demonstration and hands-on practical training.
Beyond equipment support, IFB experts will contribute knowledge-sharing sessions, curriculum updates, trainer mentoring, and placement assistance for successful trainees. This collaboration ensures that training aligns with current industry standards and enhances employability for participants.
Reaching More Students and Trainees
The new STEM labs, Smart Classrooms, and SEDI centres are steps in expanding programs that have already benefited students and trainees in other locations.
