Partners Visit Ambuja Foundation Projects - NABARD, HZL & ROTARY

Subrata Mondal, Chief General Manager of NABARD, East Regional Office, Kolkata along with Sulekha Roy, Assistant General Manager visited Ambuja Foundation projects in Sankrail, West Bengal - spending the day with farmers, women, SEDI students and Self-Help Group members.


NABARD has funded 4 projects in the region in 2018-19 including System of Rice Intensification, Aquaculture, Vegetable Cultivation, Goat and Poultry based livelihood programmes and Skill Development courses for unemployed youth. This regular visit to the core and non-core villages in 6 locations included presentations and videos on the success stories of projects along with SEDI students showcasing an exhibition of their works and certificate distribution for the graduated trainees.


NABARD has been a major partner of Ambuja Foundation since 2008 working in 11 locations and supporting 33 projects in Agro-based Livelihoods, Water Resource Management, Women Empowerment and Skills.



Additionally, Mr Abhay Gautam, Lead CSR from Hindustan Zinc Limited, along with Mr Ed O'Keefe from Synergy Global Consulting (London, UK), visited SEDI Dariba where they spent over an hour interacting with staff and trainees.



Meanwhile, Rotary Club Members (Surat) organized a visit to the Skilling Centre in Surat where they have been providing funding for the GST Training course and a computer lab. They also support training for differently-abled deaf and mute youth at SEDI.


Impressed with the visit, the partners have also assured SEDI staff of their support in identifying quality placement opportunities for SEDI graduates by spreading the word in their shared network and advocating for SEDI in the business community.
