Electrician Turned Multiple Entrepreneur

uploaded picture

Never in his wildest dreams did Paramjit Singh imagine he would be the owner of multiple businesses and employ 25 people.

It wasn't so long ago that his family faced deep financial turmoil. Paramjit's mother was suffering from a serious liver disease, and the family borrowed heavily and spent all their savings — around Rs. 16 lakhs on treatment — only to lose her soon after.

Having dropped out of 12th standard during this time, Paramjit was unsure of what to do next. As fate would have it, he met a community mobiliser from the Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) in his village and learned about their courses. Intrigued by the electrician trade, he quickly enrolled.

During his course, Paramjit worked hard and also managed to complete his Secondary School Certificate. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to take a bold step and opened a small electrical shop at Chokiwal named Saini Electricals.

Starting modestly, Paramjit soon identified another opportunity in his community: a demand for DJ services, tent houses, and catering for events. Taking a loan of Rs. 10 lakhs under the Mudra Scheme, he expanded by opening “D.J. Saini Light and Tent House” right across from his first shop.

Through determination and dedication, Paramjit grew his businesses, repaid his loans, and now employs 20–25 workers as needed. His average monthly income is around Rs. 40,000 — rising during peak seasons.

Today, Paramjit Singh stands as a true example of hard work, resilience, and business acumen, transforming his life into an inspiring success story.
