NABARD & Ambuja Foundation Join Hands to Skill Youth

Under the Gramya Vikas Nidhi – Sanction, Ambuja Foundation was provided grant assistance from NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) for implementing the ‘Employability through Skill Initiative Project phase II in accordance to the guidelines and procedures by Head Ofice, NABARD, Mumbai. Under this project, skill training will be provided across 11 locations of Ambuja Foundation for a period of 2 years.


As part of the project, rural youth will be trained in over 11 trades and will also be placed in partner organizations upon completion of the course. The aim of this project is to train over 2900 youth and ensure 70% placement. Apart from skill training, soft skills and leadership skills will also be provided in the training module.


NABARD with an objective of promoting innovative and feasible projects to enhance the production and productivity in agriculture and allied sectors, had constituted a fund called Gramya Vikas Nidhi for providing rural development to replicate and consolidate isolated successful initiatives under its different programmes. This project is yet another initiative executed by Ambuja Foundation in collaboration with NABARD and the two organisations have partnered for almost 35 projects across a variety of locations.


The ESIP was recently inaugurated in Surat, Gujarat with presence of organizational dignitaries, Mr. Anil Purohit, DGM NABARD, Pankaj Patel, KVNM President, Mr. Chetan Raval, Unit Head, Magdalla ACL Surat and Mr. C Mahida, Special Executive Surat District CO-Operative Bank. The project lead and SEDI incharge Ajit Barad briefed the executives about the project plans and implementation strategy.
