Ambuja Foundation welcomed partners in the field across a variety of locations this month as they witnessed firsthand the impact of their investments on the ground in grassroots communities.
- Hindjuja Foundation: "I have never seen such transformative change from any project in my life." These were the words of Sh. Paul Abraham, President of Hinduja Foundation who visited Ambuja Foundation project sites in Alwar, Rajasthan and met Sujal Sahelis (Water Warriors) and board members of the Sujal Saheli Mahasangh Women Federation. The visit - which included Ms. Niyati Sareen (Director, Water, Hinduja Foundation) also coincided with 'Teej Mahotsav' activities, organised by Sujal Mahil Mahasangh (with 500 Sujal Sahelis members), which included water-related games and activities and showcased the depth and commitment of Sujal Saheli’s to transforming the water scenario in their communities, and overall positive change in the society as a result.
- Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation: Meanwhile, the team in Chirawa were thrilled to welcome Ambuja
Foundation Chairman, Shri Narotam Sekhsaria and his family members who visited the projects and celebrated
the achievements of women in newly formed FPOs and Federations. The Narotam Seksaria Foundation and Ambuja
Foundation have been working together on an Integrated Community Development Program in Chirawa, Rajasthan
since 2007.
- HDFC Bank Parivartan: A new Holistic Rural Development Project was launched in August in
Kondagaon, Chattisgarh in partnership with HDFC Bank Parivartan with partner representatives attending the
launch event in the needy communities. This project will focus on Natural Resource Management, Education and
Livelihood - taking an institution-based approach. Additionally, senior officials, Mr. Kaizad Bharucha,
Deputy Managing Director, Ms. Nusrat Pathan, Head CSR, Mr. Ritesh Sinha, Head - Projects CSR visited a
closed project in Varanasi and were impressed to see the sustainability of the project even after 6 months
of closure. A short progress review of the HDFC project was conducted in Chandrapur wherein representatives
from HDFC Bank were taken for a field visit and received updates on the project status. This comes after the
recent inauguration of the sustainable Agri-Water Project Initiative to empower farmers of Chandrapur and
Nagpur.
- Prince Pipes: In Chomu, Jaitaran Rajasthan, representatives from Prince Pipes visited to
appreciate the success of water saving projects implemented at both an individual and household level. They
heard first-hand, positive feedback from local farmers on the benefits of projects, and were impressed by
the possibility of replication and scalability. Prince Pipes has partnered with Ambuja Foundation to engage
in comprehensive water harvesting projects aimed at revitalising drinking water security along with
agricultural livelihoods in the area.
- Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR): In Gujarat, the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) team visited KVK, Gir Somnath to inspect the work done at the centre and interact with the team.
- APM Terminals & Sun Pharma: Representatives from other partners like APM Terminals and Sun Pharma are frequent visitors to project sites at Ambujanagar, Gujarat.
- Other: Additionally, Ambuja Foundation team members welcomed many other visitors from government, universities and like-minded organisations who visited our locations and appreciating the work on the ground
