Celebrating International Women's Day

Event planning is under away at Ambuja Foundation locations, in order to celebrate women in our communities on International Women's Day. From multi-cultural events to guest lectures by expert advisors, International Women's Day, set to take place on 8th March 2019, will honour women in front of communities, staff and guests at different locations.

In Chirawa, Rajasthan, the Ambuja Foundation and SEDI team will celebrate the occasion under the theme 'Balance for Better' with a campaign that will showcase the achievements and advancements of women in different fields - raising awareness on their rights and equal opportunity in all walks of life. They are expecting to receive a crowd of 600 women from nearby villages to enjoy various cultural and sports activities and to award women for their role as community leaders in their different capacities.

In Darlaghat and Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh, apart from cultural activities, the team will initiate knowledge and awareness on how to combat social issues, create awareness on government schemes, health issues and also request for feedback on current operating programs.

Tentative plans are also in place in other locations to organize a fun-filled event for Self-Help Groups and women participants. Activities including experience sharing, an award ceremony and a customized Gallery Walk showcasing all the work women have achieved in the community to date is scheduled.
