In 2011, Ambuja Foundation transformed perceptions about what ‘differently abled’ children can and cannot achieve, by sending 9 students to compete in the World Summer Special Olympics – bringing home 13 Olympic Medals! It all began when they started training children in sports like badminton, cycling and athletics – showcasing to the world, that these children are special indeed!

A diplated Zilla Parishad Upper Primary School in Upparwahi, Chandrapur Maharashtra made transformation along with the School Management committee winning the Mazi Shala, Sundar Shala award. The school installed well-equipped science lab, coloring of school, enough toilets and washroom according to students’ strength, good quality desk bench, blackboard, library, Digital classrooms, conducted assembly and repaired entrance gate, kitchen shed and wall compound to the school. The students along with the teachers focused on cleanliness of the campus. Sports programs, STEM learning classes and library corners were also installed

Ambuja Foundation is building the stamina of children by promoting sports in schools. With a range of sports and physical exercise activities implemented in schools twice a week, children are thriving outside the classroom, and inside it, as a result.

Ambuja Foundation is promoting reading as a strong foundation for education and language, in Chandrapur Maharashtra with increased reading levels among tribal students as a result. By engaging 7 Pustak Fairies (reading volunteers) and targeting 7 core villages with 327 students from 1st to 8th grade, children are today competently reading books, letters, and newspapers at a higher level.
