Due to the concentration of tribal communities, people are often hesitant to send their children outside the district for job placements, despite limited employment opportunities within the local market.
As a result, agriculture becomes the primary source of income. However, it remains dependent on erratic rainfall, and farmers have limited knowledge of modern techniques—leading to only two crop cycles annually.
To address employment challenges in the tribal regions of Amarwara and Chhindwara, Ambuja Foundation has established three SEDIs. These centers offer training in 8 trades: Sewing Machine Operator, Assistant Electrician, Masonry, Security Guard, Beautician, Automobile, BPO, and Tally. A one-year Diploma in Fire Safety is also offered.
With well-equipped labs and a robust curriculum, the centers provide both classroom and hands-on training, including on-the-job and workplace exposure. Accredited trainees receive placement support and are also guided to secure loans for entrepreneurship.
