Ambuja Foundation's Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) has introduced technical training programs for injured and retired Jawans at Roorkee, with the first batch at the Institute beginning in the month of May 2019.

World Youth Skills Day was celebrated with gusto and in style across SEDI locations, but at the forefront was SEDI Bhatapara, launching the first ever 'women only' mason training batch, for women who are working as mason laborers or as an MNREGA laborers to develop their skills and provide them with better options for advancement.

Every year, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDI) at various locations organize regional Partners Meets to strengthen ties with existing employers and partners, and also identify new employers for graduates.

As part of its placement model, SEDI organizes exposure visits for students, to help them gain first-hand knowledge about their respective fields and experience the work culture.

Maharaja Gaj Singh of Marwar (Jodhpur) paid a visit to Ambuja Foundation's Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Nagaur, Rajasthan in February, to interact with the trainees - who had made a lasting impression showcasing their hospitality skills at Nagaur's World Sacred Spirit Festival.

Changes are afoot at Jay Bharat Maruti Group in Gujarat. A manufacturer of automotive components, this giant has over 55 manufacturing plants globally. However, up until 2018, its factory in Vithalpur only recruited men - after all most of the work involves hard labour.

Financial services is a rapidly growing industry that currently faces a significant shortfall of operational and frontline staff. To tackle this industry gap - meeting the needs of both employers and youth in search of employment, Ambuja Foundation has joined hands with AU Small Finance to launch the AU Skills Academy in Jaipur.

With a goal to establish 50 Skill and Entrepreneurship Institutes across India by 2020, Ambuja Foundation has been joining hands with like-minded partners to expand our footprint and do our bit to help address the skilling needs of the nation.

Skill Training is the need of the hour in rural India, but at every turn there are hurdles to overcome in tackling youth unemployment and meeting the recruitment needs of industry.

On 7th July 2018, the honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, visited Rajasthan to seek feedback from around 2.5 lakh beneficiaries of various central and state-run public welfare schemes under the 'Pradhan Mantri Jansanwad' programme.

Ambuja Foundation recently launched three new skill training centres in Gujarat and Uttarakhand - taking the total number of SEDI to 27. The newly launched centres are in Rajula (Gujarat), Roorkee (Uttarakhand) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand).

To strengthen and foster collaborations for skill development, Ambuja Foundation organised the event 'Skill India - Enhancing Capabilities, Empowering Lives' on 15th September in Kolkata. This was a closed group meeting that aimed to provide a platform for various organisations to share their experiences in skilling, explore synergies and discuss opportunities and challenges.
