Subrata Mondal, Chief General Manager of NABARD, East Regional Office, Kolkata along with Sulekha Roy, Assistant General Manager visited Ambuja Foundation projects in Sankrail, West Bengal - spending the day with farmers, women, SEDI students and Self-Help Group members.

In an effort to raise awareness about the issues of rural India and the work of Ambuja Foundation in promoting rural prosperity, a range of media houses have published articles on key issues.

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), May 15 - Students of Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (AMK), the only educational institute for special children in Punjab's Ropar district and an initiative of Ambuja Foundation - the CSR arm of leading cement manufacturer Ambuja Cements Ltd - have clinched the 'Overall Championship Trophy' at the 'UMANG 2019' for the fourth year in a row.

To further support Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (AMK) students and their families who struggle to make ends meet, AMK has initiated a Child Sponsorship programme, inspiring local organisations and individuals to contribute.

Every year, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDI) at various locations organize regional Partners Meets to strengthen ties with existing employers and partners, and also identify new employers for graduates.

Through the 'Make India Play' initiative, Ambuja Foundation is supporting 10 primary and upper primary schools in Darlaghat to promote sports activities amongst boys and girls, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), who via 'Art of Play', provide the curriculum and Teacher Training for the project.

As part of its placement model, SEDI organizes exposure visits for students, to help them gain first-hand knowledge about their respective fields and experience the work culture.

In Chandrapur, Maharashtra, lack of training learning materials and poor teaching quality meant that schools were graded 'C or D' level by the District and State Boards of Primary and Secondary Education.

On the occasion of World Health Day on 7th April, Ambuja Foundation organized a drawing competition in a Government school in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh with the theme: 'Health: Everyone, Everywhere.'
